Trade Policy Research and Training Programme
TPRTP is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-partisan international organization set up within the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. It is committed to the analysis of international trade issues for the promotion of the integration of African economies both regionally and with the Global economy.
TPRTP carries on its activities mainly by focusing on the overall understanding of the workings of the major Bilateral and Multilateral Organizations, policy outcome of international trade issues and decisions and the implications of the domestic policies of African economies on international trade and trade agreements.
A policy-oriented research and training programme designed to assist senior officials from the public and private sectors of the Nigerian and African economies. Developing and applying the appropriate expertise for effective participation in these organizations, should yield dividends in the short, medium and long term. These are the basic considerations underlying the establishment of the Trade Policy Research and Training Programme (TPRTP) in the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
